Legacy & Vision

Legacy & Vision Women’s Giving Circle was established in 2000 as a unique way of supporting the children and families of Early Connections Learning Centers.  Women who join Legacy & Vision do so for three main reasons:
1) to be connected to an established organization that has been making a difference in lives of children for over a century;
2) to advance our mission of providing a quality and meaningful first start for children from limited income and working families; and
3) to have fun and celebrate a common bond of philanthropy.

 Legacy & Vision was inspired by Alice Bemis Taylor, our most important benefactor.  Mrs. Taylor was one of the fourteen founding mothers of Early Connections in 1897 (known then as the Colorado Springs Day Nursery Association).  She donated the funds and was closely involved in the design and construction of the Historic Day Nursery so that the work of the organization would continue in a permanent home.   Dedicated in 1923 “to all mothers and all children”, the Day Nursery is one of our four Centers and continues to serve children.  Early Connections’ corporate offices are located there, as well.

 Mrs. Taylor’s vision and legacy remain in place today and inspire the work we do.  Women interested in supporting the mission of Early Connections and enjoying the company of like-minded women may contact Jacque Walsh, Vice President of Development, jwalsh@earlyconnections.org or (719) 632-1754 x1004.
