About Me

Who or what inspired you to become a teacher? I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in second grade. I loved my second grade teacher because she was so kind and helped me though so many of my struggles in learning. I forced my sister to play teacher when we were little.

My best day in the classroom was when…. I really enjoy every day in my classroom, but my favorite days are when a child has those “light bulb” moments where you can tell they are really learning. I also love when my students make me laugh by the things they do or say. I love having that special relationship with them and their families. I miss them when they go up into kindergarten.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? I like going to museums, plays, or spending time with my daughter, especially outside. I know this may seem funny, but I also enjoy coloring.

What else would you like to share about yourself or profession? I love finding new ideas and ways of doing things in my classroom. I love researching and learning from other teachers how to do things.

What is your favorite food? It really depends on the day, but I can always eat at Texas Roadhouse.

What is your favorite book? I have really started reading (not too scary) mysteries.
