Who or what inspired you to become a teacher? I really don’t know if there was one person who inspired me. I just know that I have always wanted to be a teacher. I started tutoring neighborhood kids when I was a teenager and the rest is history.
My best day in the classroom was when…. The children were all engaged in their playing, having conversations, and happy to be in our classroom getting along and sharing with their preschool friends.
If you could have one teacher superpower what would it be? I would wave my magic wand and make all children love books. Hearing stories and eventually learning to read would be like candy that they couldn’t get enough of.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? I enjoy spending my time with my 2 year old granddaughter.
What else would you like to share about yourself or profession? Teaching has been in “my blood” for as long as I can remember. I have always been a primary teacher. I loved building the foundation for future learning. I want children to love coming to school. I want to help develop self- confidence and social skills. Teaching preschool at this point in my career is exactly what I need. I love that the children can learn through play with an emphasis in literature.
What is your favorite food? I love salads especially Red Robin’s Chicken Tenders salad.
What is your favorite book? My favorite adult book is The Notebook. My favorite children’s book is The Great Fuzz Frenzy.
